Forward Wayne County is pleased to welcome Acacia St. John to the organization as Program Manager. A native of Wayne County and a graduate of Lincoln High School, she has more than 10 years of experience in workforce development, marketing, and community relations.

Acacia St John

Prior to coming to the organization, Acacia worked with the Ivy Tech Community College Richmond campus on the Skill UP grant project. This produced the ELITE Network, which is a collective, seven-county collaboration effort to recruit, retain, and skill up the workforce. Her job was to strategize grant implementation, data reporting, marketing, and facilitate/present information on the network and it’s more than 30 employers, education, and community partners.

Acacia’s early career was working for several non-profit organizations in event planning and fundraising. She also worked with an Indiana publishing company as a publicist promoting its products and authors. This work led her to the WorkOne system where she served nearly a decade as Manager and Associate Director of Communications & Quality Assurance.

“Collectively, all my previous work experience has led me here,” she states. “I am excited to work for an organization whose focus is to promote our people and our communities. Together we can make Wayne County the place where people want to work, live, and raise their kids. And have the resources and collaboration to make it happen.”

Acacia St John Going Beyond Work Life

Acacia serves on the University of Evansville’s Alumni Board of Directors and Executive committee and helps plan and message the Annual Day of Giving. Over the past three years, this day has brought in more than one million dollars of giving to the University. She, along with her husband, are also strong supporters of organizations that help provide basic needs for individuals and families.

In her spare time, Acacia likes to travel with her husband Rick and pretend she is a gardener. This doesn’t always turn out the way it should, gardening or travel. They have one college age daughter.
