We Are Thankful

Thanksgiving may look a little different this year for many of us, but it can still be a time to pause and reflect on what we are thankful for.

We encourage you to write down what you are thankful for or better yet, send a thank you note, email, or text. It will definitely bring a smile to the person receiving it.

Here are just a few things that we are thankful for at Forward Wayne County:

Thank you to our healthcare workers for taking care of our sick. You are working long hours and we see your efforts. You all are true heroes.

Thank you to our teachers and education systems for adapting and going above and beyond in educating our students.

Thank you to our food pantries throughout the county for meeting the food needs of our residents.

We’ve got more

Thank you to our local non-profits, who got innovative and continue to serve their clients during this pandemic.

Thank you to our arts organizations for providing new experiences outside, online, and revamped.

Thank you to our park systems throughout the county for keeping parks, walkways, and trails safe during this unprecedented time of life.

Thank you to our services agencies for providing relief to small business, individuals, and others.

Thank you to the Economic Development Corporation of Wayne County for continuing to bring in new business and jobs to Wayne County. They are helping us attract and retain talent.

Thank you to the Wayne County Area Chamber of Commerce for their work on behalf of our business community. Also for their efforts in helping our workforce stay employed.

We’re not done

Thank you to our business owners working so hard to keep their businesses open and finding new streams of revenue.

Thank you to everyone who are supporting our local restaurants through takeout, online ordering, curb-side service, etc.

Thank you to our five public libraries throughout the county who modified their services to continue to provide the joy of reading to our communities.

Thank you to Forward Wayne County’s three Coalitions: Early Childhood, Employability, and Main Street for doing work on behalf of Wayne County.

Thank you to Forward Wayne County’s Steering Committee for leadership and tackling big issues for Wayne County.

Thank you to generous donors throughout the county that helped so many non-profit organizations during the Wayne County Foundation’s 2020 Challenge Match week.

Thank you to our city and county government officials working on our behalf.
